Our Airstream Renovation – Installing New Vinyl Floors
We’ve lived with subfloor for 1 week and it’s time for some real floors. It was a very long weekend but we got our floors in and the trim on. It took a while to get into our groove on the flooring but we got there and it went smoothly…even getting the couch in/out of the Airstream. The trim however was a nightmare…and somehow we lost all our footage from trying to lay it. Perhaps we were so frustrated we deleted it in our sleep…who knows. All that matters is that the floors are done and we couldn’t be happier! Let us know what you think!
Stay tuned for our next DIY Airstream Project…involving snap pliers next Thursday!

I see that you used the shaw stainmaster LVP. How has this product held up?
I am trying to decide on flooring and as you know, no floating floor is “Guaranteed” to work in a non climate controlled environment.
Any comments on things such as scratching or seams coming apart would be great to hear about.
Thank you
Hi Alan.
The flooring has held up quite well! We have a few small gaps after 2+ years of travel but nothing that catches on anything.
Normal wear and tear hasn’t scratched it up too bad. However, Steve’s office chair has scratched up that area considerably. If we did it again we would put some kind of mat over the area where Steve rolls around on his chair.
Anyway overall we still really like the flooring choice and would use it again.
Thank you for the information
