Leaving Tucson (Finally!) & Heading to Picacho Peak State Park
For any of you who didn’t make it through our last video, don’t worry! We’re still in the Airstream and we’ve hit the road! We hitched up the Airstream and got going the whole hour to Picacho Peak State Park. Thought we’d take it slow and we’ve always wanted to camp there! I think our first spot on the road is pretty nice 🙂 Checkout our next video for the hike to the top of the peak!

Yay, a beautiful start! You need to get walkie talkies. They are fun (crazy handle names) and very functional. Although your hitching process was great, (we had a few angry/frustrating hitching days) it is unbelievably easier with the walkie talkies. My husband could never quite see my hand signals so to be able to just say “a tiny bit to the driver’s side”, amazing. Plus, we use them while checking all of the lights around the trailer before we leave any spot. And, they are nice for backing into a spot.
Safe travels,
Brenda Nowlin
Thanks for the great advice Brenda. We actually were gifted a pair of walkie talkies but haven’t put batteries in them yet. We’ll have to remedy that shortly. I can see how walkie talkies would make everything easier. Especially given how loud our truck is we can’t talk to each easily while hitching. Thanks!
Did u say checklist? Would u consider making that a public Google doc someday?
We want to update it a bit now that we’re on the road but we’re planning to share it soon. So stay tuned! 🙂
