In today’s video, we leave the Wendover KOA and drive to Winnemucca NV where we spend one night at Walmart. Our first Walmart camping experience! It was the perfect stop over to get us to Truckee CA near Lake Tahoe the next day. We show you around our awesome first come camp spot and the small lake nearby. Next stop/video is Lake Tahoe!
In today’s video, we finally get everything sorted out with Clifford’s repairs and we get to leave Wendover Nevada but first, we check out the Bonneville Salt Flats. The Salt Flats were amazing beautiful…more so than we expected. If you are driving past we highly recommend you stop for a quick visit. Stay tuned as we get back to adventuring after this brief delay.
In today’s video, it’s moving day. We are leaving our amazing spot on Utah Lake and heading for 1 night on Antelope Island. Antelope Island is on the Great Salt Lake north of Salt Lake City. We knew we wanted to go check it out and since it was $10 to get in we decided to dry camp for one night instead for $20 total. The views from our campsite were beautiful but the no-see-ums were ridiculous. Poor Penny was eaten alive on day one and Steve has over 100 bites after day 2. We will come back to the island…just not in the spring during no-see-um hatching time.
In today’s video, we’re taking a day trip up into Salt Lake City and exploring Temple Square in downtown. This area is absolutely beautiful and worth a visit if you are in the area, especially in the spring when the tulips are blooming. The gardens here are fabulous and full of color this time of year and the grounds and buildings are immaculately kept. We even got to stay and hear an organ concert at the Tabernacle. A great day!
In today’s video, we are doing some exploring of the area around Utah Lake including hiking a waterfall (our third choice for a waterfall but it was still beautiful!). We also get a birds-eye view of our campsite at Miners Canyon from our hike up the hill. Lastly, we enjoy a night out for some Thai food which was special and delicious.
In today’s video, we show you around our new boondocking spot on Utah Lake south of Saratoga Springs. We also go explore another boondocking location on Stansbury Island and get through a long not so fun day of important errands. We decided we liked this spot so much we’d stay a whole week here but wait until you see the bugs. Luckily they don’t bite 🙂
In today’s video, we share our last couple days around Bryce Canyon. We hike some of the Fairyland Trail out to Tower Bridge, go hiking in Red Canyon to get up close and personal with the hoodoos and enjoy some delicious pie at the Bryce Canyon Pines before hitching up and heading out to our next destination… Utah Lake.
In today’s video, we decided to take a day trip to Kodachrome Basin State Park which was about 40 minutes from where we were boondocking outside of Bryce. Kodachrome was $8 for the day but we think it was worth it. We hiked a couple very pretty hikes including one with a large arch. Since we haven’t been to Arches yet this was a big deal to us! Our one thought on the park was we’d recommend seeing it before Bryce if possible. Bryce is so spectacular that comparisons are unfair and since we had hiked Bryce the day before it was fresh in our minds. Kodachrome is also beautiful just in a different way.
Also, there is absolutely 0 cell signal in the park or anywhere near it. So keep that in mind if you are planning to camp there.
In today’s video, it’s time to move on from Snow Canyon State Park and try to find another free BLM boondocking location for 4 nights before we head to Bryce Canyon. We had scoped out a nice spot by the Upper Sand Cove Reservoir about 20 minutes from Snow Canyon. However, when we got there the spot was already taken and not in the way we expected. Our 30-minute move turned into a 3+ hour move trying to find a good spot. Add in horrible wind and nothing being level and it was a long day. However, it all worked out and we settled into a new spot just fine. Plus we learned a lot along the way and got to see a bunch of wildlife. Enjoy our adventure!
In today’s video, we’re exploring Snow Canyon. We had heard that if this State Park were anywhere but Utah it would be a National Park. We have to say it’s probably true. This place is gorgeous but still quiet which was lovely! We hope you enjoy exploring with us.
