Tuesday Talk: Safety & Airstream Locks

Video Description

This week we are answering a question from a viewer about Airstream locks, hitch locks, and feeling safe while boondocking. He asked us what hitch lock we use…we don’t. We have a Hensley hitch and they are uncommon enough that it almost acts as it’s own lock. Someone would need to have the right stinger (not a ball hitch) to hitch up to our trailer. Or they would have to take the whole hitch off which would take a while. Since we try to stay near civilization we don’t worry about it as much. We also have a GPS Tracker in the Airstream which alerts us if it moves, which gives us the piece of mind.

The second part of the question had to do with the Airstream door locks. We have not changed those and use the original locks. They make us feel secure at night. We also have our dogs which would alert us if something was going on. In general, we won’t stay somewhere where we feel unsafe so we haven’t had any issues.

What about you? What locks do you use on your rig or hitch?
