Tuesday Talk: How To Store Important Data When RVing Using Digital Backups

Video Description

This week we are answering a question from a viewer about how we back up our important data like Steve’s photography and our videos. This is an important topic for those who RV and for those who don’t. Losing important data, especially if they are memories such as pictures can be heartbreaking.

We mostly use external hard drives to back up our data and we do it manually. Steve has a 2 TB drive he has connected to his windows laptop at all times. This is where he stores photos and videos while he is working on them. He then backs them up to a 5TB hard drive (which we have 2 of and they are exact copies of one another). This way we have 2 places with everything. We try to keep one of the hard drives in our fireproof safe so there’s a chance we could recover it in case of an emergency. You can find the hard drives we use in our store.

We also back up our photos on Amazon Prime. If you are an Amazon Prime member you get free UNLIMITED photo storage. How awesome is that? It’s one of the many reasons we love Amazon Prime. If you are thinking of becoming a member use our link to help us out.
