This week we are answering a question from a viewer about how we find all the awesome places we visit that are off the beaten path.
This year we have been hitting a few of the bigger tourist destinations but we always try to find the hidden gems wherever we go. How? Planning and research…but it’s not that hard. First, you need to know what everyone in your group is interested in.
For us, Steve loves photography opportunities, ice cream, and breweries! Courtney loves amazing hikes especially to waterfalls, delicious food, and farmers markets. We both love camping with more space and privacy over amenities.
Knowing this Courtney can research states or areas with these things in mind. She might do a search on the best ice cream in all of Michigan or the best waterfalls. Once shes found some good information she puts it all into one of her Google Planning Maps. Now when we go to actually plan our route and our trip we have lots of awesome places we will love to visit.
