Tuesday Talk: Full Time RVing with Dog- Vets &Temperatures

Video Description

This week we are answering a question from a viewer about our dogs and using the Petsmart (Banfield) Vet. We had both our dogs before we started traveling full-time. They went to a local vet in Tucson. But knowing we were going to start traveling we switched them over to the Banfield Vet in the local Petsmart. Banfield and Petsmarts are all over the US and therefore we can take our dogs to any Petsmart vet and they will have their records on hand. So far this has worked very well for us.

We also discuss how we make sure the dogs stay comfortable temperature wise in the Airstream while we are gone. It’s pretty easy keeping them warm. Normally we aren’t gone much at night (the coldest time of the day) so the Airstream will keep warm enough during the day without having to leave a heat source. If we have hookups they will have the heat pump.

Staying cool is harder. We can’t even trust that the hookups will keep the A/C on (given multiple experiences where the power went out for the entire park or just at our site). So if it’s going to be dangerously hot (over 90 degrees) we will not leave them. Otherwise having the windows open and fantastic fans going keeps the Airstream nice and cool.
