Tuesday Talk: Banking, Credit Cards & Fees While Full-Time RVing

Video Description

This week we are answering a question from a viewer about banking and getting cash while full-time RVing.

We have two national banks for our personal and business checking accounts (bank of America and Chase). This allows us to have access to branches in many parts of the United States. So when we are in an area with ATMs for our banks we will stock up on cash.

If we need cash in a different area some accounts don’t charge atm fees. Another way to get cash is by using your debit card at grocery stores and getting the max cash back there.

We always make sure to keep emergency cash hidden in the Airstream. If we need to use it, our number one priority is to restock our emergency area so it’s ready for next time.

For savings, we use a completely online bank with really good customer service and interest rates. This way we can call whenever and have things taken care of.

Another thing that can be difficult when full-time RVing is when you need to get new credit cards. We just had a credit card compromised and are getting new cards shipped to us. We will then need them shipped from our billing address to where we are right now. Frustrating!

What about you? Have you ever had any issues with banking while traveling? Do you have any suggestions?
