On this Airstream Life vLog, we finally get into Austin to go exploring but first, we stop at the Upper and Lower Falls at Mckinney Falls State Park where we are camping. The water level wasn’t great so the upper falls weren’t that impressive but we really liked climbing around the lower falls. It’s been a while since we saw a waterfall so we took full advantage.
The next stop on our day of adventuring was for some delicious blackened seafood tacos at Surf n Turf PoBoy before we braved closed roads in downtown Austin (due to the Austin marathon) to see the state capitol building.
Wow! The Austin Capitol Building is absolutely gorgeous! We went inside and did a self-guided tour for free. We learned so much and the details in the building are amazing. Even the hinges on the giant doors are engraved! Totally worth a visit.
After exploring the Austin Capitol Building we walked down Congress and the Dirty 6th to get to Tears of Joy Hot Sauce. You know we love hot sauce! We tasted a bunch and even picked up a couple for souvenirs.
The last stop on our Austin explorations was Prohibition Creamery. They make their own boozy ice cream and even do boozy smoothies. To see a pic of Courtney’s make sure to check out the A Streamin’ Life Instagram feed. She had a sangria smoothie while Steve had a triple bourbon smoothie. Yum!
We are moving on from Austin to another amazing Harvest Host in the next video so stay tuned!
