Manufacturing Tilt bars for our Solar Panels & Fixing Our Composting Toilet

Video Description

On this Airstream Life vLog, we do a whole bunch of Airstream DIY. First an unexpected task. Our composting toilet liquid diversion project has been working great! But we got a clog! Luckily Steve’s dad was the one who first helped us install the PEX system and he came over to help us fix it. Now we know we need to clean out the pipes a lot more often to prevent future clogs.

Next Steve shows off his tilting solar panels! He created tilt bars (instead of buying them) to save money and give us more flexibility when it comes to solar panel tilt angles. We can tilt all 5 panels to 20,30, 40, or 60 degrees. He also designed the tilt bars to store on the roof of the Airstream with the solar panels themselves and the process of tilting the panels is super easy and requires no tools! He did an awesome job and we’ll be using the tilt bars a lot in the future to maximize the energy we get from the sun.
