Video Description
This week we are talking about the 3 things we wouldn’t boondock without. The first of the three is a 4 wheel drive vehicle. You certainly don’t need 4wd to RV but we wouldn’t boondock much without it. We have had to use it a number of times in our 2 years on the road. You may not need it 99% but when you do, it is a lifesaver!
The second thing is our composting toilet. This allows us to combine our black and gray tanks, and effectively double our gray water storage. We also use a lot less water! So we can stay off-grid for up to 2 weeks even with showers! Check out our videos on the composting toilet here.
Our third thing is our solar. Granted you don’t need solar but we LOVE being out in beautiful places and only hearing the sound of nature….not our generator running. We also love not having to worry about power at all as long as its sunny.
We mention our cell booster at the end too. This isn’t one of our three because it is essential for us whether boondocking or in a campground. We need to be connected and the cell booster is critical to that.
What do you consider essential to boondocking?
