On this Airstream Life vLog, we answer some questions we get ALL THE TIME. First, we talk about our workspace/office space in our Airstream and then we talk unlimited internet and what our internet setup looks like.

Since we travel full-time and do a lot on our computers while on the road we need dedicated office areas inside ou Airstream. Courtney works from her laptop on a fold up table that our Airstream came with next to the couch. This works great for her as she doesn’t need a lot of space or multiple computers for everything she does.

Steve meanwhile has a desk that takes up half the kitchen! We removed our dinette and put in desk space. It has made all the difference in the world. First, it actually gives us more space to walk around the Airstream which is nice. Secondly, it gives Steve a nice big place to work. Plenty of room for his 3 laptops and larger monitor which he uses for photo and video editing.

But what about internet? We bought a grandfathered unlimited plan from Verizon which does not throttle our speeds. We use about 100-150 gigs a month. We also installed a WeBoost 4G cell booster and a directional antenna. The directional antenna is mounted to where the tv antenna used to be. We just put it up and swivel it to face the closest cell tower. That cell signal is then transmitted inside the Airstream and boosted. The boosted signal is picked up by our Verizon MiFi device which acts as our router and broadcasts a wireless signal to our computers.

This system has worked great for us for our 3 years of travel over the whole US. The Internet is important when you work from the road.
