Video Description
On this Airstream Life vLog, we have a bit of a hodgepodge video for you. We are still in Virginia visiting family so what we get filmed is often random and not as cohesive as we normally like. We’ll be back to normal in the next vlog.
For now, we start the video off by taking you along on a tour of Belle Grove a plantation house built in the late 1700s. It was also an important site during the Civil Way and the Battle Of Cedar Creek. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to film or photograph the interior but it was really interesting to see such a grand house brought back to its original splendor and learn about its history and therefore the history of the region.
After Belle Grove, we took a driving tour through Winchester since it was so cold. We did manage to catch a view of a cannon George Washington used and of course a lot of beautiful old buildings.
Then we are abruptly back at the campground and talking about composting toilets haha! It’s time to change our the solids in the composting toilet. Courtney shows you her trick for rehydrating the coconut coir (making changing it out super easy and quick). It used to take her 30+ minutes to do this chore…now it takes her 5. Win!
We also show you a bunch of things we sent to Steve’s brothers (since we haven’t had a mailing address for a while). Most of the items are standard things that we needed to replace due to wear and tear.
Finally, we talk about how we heat the Airstream using as few of our resources as possible (and therefore saving us money) and what’s to come. We are leaving Virginia and heading into Maryland in the next video so stay tuned!
