Video Description
On this Airstream Life vLog, we finally make it to New Orleans! After finding street parking with the rental car we take a walk around Jackson Square. We are surrounded by people and noises! There is so much going on here. We take a quiet respite in the ST. Louis Cathedral (the oldest cathedral in the US) before we are back out on the streets listening to street performers and watching artists. Amazing!
One of the main reasons we came to the French Quarter was to go to Coop’s Place for lunch. They have one of the best Jambalayas in town, which is one of Steve’s favorite dishes. They do not disappoint! Steve was sad to eat the last couple of bites it was so good. We highly recommend going if you love Jambalaya as he does.
We also make it over to the Carousel Bar which has been running since the 60s and is kinda iconic. The bar actually spins while you are on it! It was a fun place to get a classic New Orleans cocktail like the Vieux Carre.
Finally, we attempt to get some oysters but the lines are too long so we just stroll back to our car down Bourbon street. Even during the middle of the day on a Saturday, this place is hopping so we can only imagine what it’s like at night or during Mardi Gras! This city is definitely alive!
Stay tuned for a very unique Mardi Gras Parade and more in our next video.
