On this Airstream Life vLog, we make the most of a rainy day by getting some delicious bbq at Killens in Pearland TX. This is another of the top 50 BBQ places in TX (we’ve managed to hit 3 on this trip). The burnt ends were killer! OMG good. Steve also loved the coffee bbq sauce and Courtney adored the creamed corn. Yum!
Then we go adventuring to a place Courtney has always wanted to go: The Houston Space Center. We explored all the exhibits. Steve particularly loved the weather exhibit (you know Steve wanted to be a meteorologist growing up). Meanwhile, Courtney was in space nerd heaven everywhere she looked.
We ended up taking the tram tour which took us to the Mission Control Building where we got to watch people training in a mission control training room. Very cool! Then on to the Astronaut training center. This was Courtney’s favorite part! All astronauts come here to train on where everything is, how to move things in zero gravity and more. We would have loved to be able to experience some of the training in person but seeing it from up above was still awesome. The last stop on the tram tour was the Saturn 5 rocket which was huge and impressive! Wow!
Back at the Space Center we went to Independence Plaza and stepped inside both a 747 that carried the Space Shuttle on it’s back and a high fidelity replica of the space shuttle. Very cool!
Overall we loved our time at the Space Center. It was expensive and they nickel and dimed you some which we didn’t appreciate but if you are a space nerd it is definitely worth a trip!
Stay tuned for more adventures in Houston in the next video.
