On this Airstream Life vLog, we pack up and head out of Virginia on a cold rainy day. You can’t always choose what weather you will be driving through but luckily we just had drizzles on our way into Maryland. We arrive at the Patapsco State Park an hour before checkin…and have to figure out what to do since no one was manning the ranger station.
This is another thing you will run across when RVing. Sometimes you have to leave a campground due to checkout time but that makes you arrive at your next location before check-in. Most of the time you will be okay as long as you are within an hour of check-in but sometimes not. This time we decided to hop on our bikes and ride over to the State Park Headquarters instead of risking the 11-foot tunnel with the Airstream. It was a workout but worth it!
Once we checked in and got the gate code we went up and down the hills leading to the Hollofield Area campground before arriving at our site. The inner loop of this campground has 30amp electric while the outer loop is dry. We have a large private electric site which is awesome! We knew to book this one after reading the reviews on Campendium. Do you want more tips like this? Check out our new free email list with weekly epic RV tips here
After setting up we take the dogs for a walk around the campground, light up a wood burning campfire and cook up some veggie Thai red curry noodles for dinner. We top it off with our new favorite hot sauce courtesy of Jon & Loretta. Thanks again, guys! We love this stuff!
Stay tuned for Baltimore explorations in the next video.
