On this Airstream Life vLog, we head into St. Paul to do some exploring of Minnesota’s State Capital. First, we need to get some food in our bellies so we head to Tin Whiskers Brewery. While the brewery itself does not have food you can bring in Tahi food from the place next door. Perfect! We enjoy a little beer flight and some delicious spicy Thai food to get us ready for some walking.
Next, we are walking around the Minnesota Capitol Building which is gorgeous! It is actually the 3rd capital building as was built starting in 1895 to the tune of about $4.5 million. The design was actually a competition. They certainly did it up! What a fabulous building and the surrounding area is really nice too. We wandered around a bit checking out some of the memorials near the Capital before hopping back into the truck to head to Summit Ave.
Summit Ave is where all the centuries-old mansions are in St. Paul. We stop by the James Hill House first and take a look from the outside. We also get to the see fabulous St. Paul Cathedral right across the street. It’s the highest spot in St. Paul! Then we walk some more of the street to check out the other architecture and possibly house hunt? Haha, the prices are a little out of our price range 🙂
Last stop for the day is Izzy’s Ice Cream. We were told we had to go while in the area and we are so glad we did. The Izzy scoop is adorable and so unique! Plus the ice cream itself is delicious. It now ranks in Steve’s top 5.
We finally make it to the miniature train museum in St. Paul in our next video so stay tuned!
