On this Airstream Life vLog, we go on a private tour of the Fabulous Falls of Cayuga Lake with Experience! the Finger Lakes. This is a local #1 rated tour company that does nature, history and wine tours in the Finger Lakes area and showcases everything there is to love about the region.

Our tour was about 2 hours long and was run by the owner Laura Falk. We started the tour at Cascadilla Falls where we learned about the geology and national history or the region. We got to see the layers of shale and sandstone from millions of years ago when this area was an inland sea. We also learned this was the location of the first settlement in Ithaca after the Revolutionary War and the history of the crops and native people of the region. Meanwhile, we also go to explore around a beautiful cascading waterfall.

Our next two stops were actually waterfalls on the Cornell campus. We walked on the suspension bridge and saw the falls way below us before heading to BiBi Lake to see how they managed to create a manmade cascading fall that fits in with the natural ones. Beautiful! In fact, there are so many falls on the actual Cornell campus, we were shocked! What a pretty place to go to school!

Our last stop was Ithaca Falls which was by far the most exciting! It is a 150ft falls where you can actually take a short hike to get right up to the base. Wow! We spent about 10-15 minutes clambering around the falls and getting some amazing photography while enjoying being so close to a natural wonder.

Could we have found these falls on our own? Maybe with enough research but the experience we had with the tour was so much better. It’s one thing to enjoy the waterfall’s beauty but to also be able to know the history surrounding it really made the whole morning that much better. There is still more to do and see! The next day we head back into Ithaca to go to the Ithaca Farmer’s Market. Wow! There was so much to do, taste, and smell there. We didn’t realize how many amazing food vendors would be set up and we were heading to our meetup after so we didn’t get any food. However, we did get some maple kettle corn…because come on!

Finally, we got to meet some awesome subscribers at our meetup at Ithaca Ale House. Yum! Delicious burgers and amazing conversation! Thanks to everyone who attended.
