This week we are discussing Steve’s biggest driving pet peeves particularly when he is towing the Airstream. If you have ever traveled with an RV you know that somehow having an RV on the road brings out the worst in some drivers. Most of the time our drives are pleasant but sometimes certain things really get on Steve’s last nerve.
One of his top pet peeves are people who pass on the left, get in front of us and then slow down….like way down. Why? It’s dangerous! It’s a lot harder for us to slow down or speed up quickly and we try to leave a lot of space in between us and the car in front of us. That’s why people cutting us off is also a pet peeve, again because it is dangerous. Steve will slow down even if he’s pretty sure the other car will be speeding up and giving him more space because you never know.
Another pet peeve has more to do with parking. When parking an RV in a parking lot we go out as far as we possibly can since we often take up multiple spots. But many drivers don’t understand that in pulling out we need more room than a regular car. So even though the parking lot is almost empty…they will park right next to us. Which means we are stuck! We know they don’t do it on purpose but it can be annoying.
Ok so what about you? What are your biggest pet peeves when it comes to driving an RV?
