Video Description
On this Airstream Life vLog, we leave our Harvest Host, Bayou Teche Brewing on a cold morning. First, we chat about whether we think Harvest Host would work for people who do not drink. While many of the locations are breweries and wineries there are also a lot of farms and museums that host campers. Even the breweries and wineries normally have other things you can buy/try besides alcohol including food and gift shop items. Lastly, you can always pay for the upgrade which includes golf courses as well! So even if you don’t drink Harvest Host might be something to consider.
On our way to New Orleans, we stop to get some lunch at Crazy ‘Bout Crawfish a local seafood restaurant recommended by Lynn & Phil. OMG! This place was delicious! We both very much recommend stopping as it is right off of I-10, has a super local vibe, and amazing seafood!
Then it’s back on the road towards New Orleans. After a lovely drive including some sunshine, we settle into our spot at Fairview-RIverside State Park. It’s beautiful here! The Spanish moss swaying from the trees by the river on our walk was a perfect welcome to the area.
After setting up we decided to try our hand at making our own homemade gumbo from scratch. I think we did a pretty good job. Just look at the color of that roux! What do you think?
Stay tuned for some swampy explorations in the next video 🙂
