This week we are answering a question from a viewer about how we have changed over the course of the past almost 3 years living in our Airstream. Our viewer noticed that we have become a lot more relaxed since we started filming in 2016. So true! They asked if we had noticed any changes in ourselves.

This was a great question and gave us a reason to pause and reflect on our journey so far. We agree that we have definitely relaxed since starting the YouTube channel. Especially Courtney who has always been more high strung then Steve but has learned to go with the flow more as we’ve RVed. She still is definitely the planner in the bunch but Steve and the environment have mellowed her out some.

We have also learned to appreciate things more and lower our standards. Sometimes we don’t chase our dreams because our standards are too high. We “need” hot showers every morning or our own space or a large wardrobe Those “needs” limit what we can have. We have lowered our standards and do and live a lot differently than we ever would have imagined 5 years ago but that has given us the opportunity to live this amazing traveling lifestyle.

We also take this time to reflect on how appreciative this lifestyle has made us. We don’t take near as much for granted as we used to. We are grateful for every sunny day, hot running water, electricity after dark and so much more.

We are also appreciative of each other. Living in such a small space for so long can wear n a relationship but it can also strengthen it. We are closer than we ever were. We take the opportunity to appreciate each other and how well we work together because if we didn’t this life would be a lot harder.

In general, this whole journey has changed us for the better.
